Often times one of the biggest challenges for new teachers is the creation of
teachers lesson plans. It is estimated by educational experts, that for every
hour a teacher spends teaching, they have to spend two hours creating the lesson
plans. After a certain period this actually is less a factor because teachers
have felt a good feel for what is required and their lesson plans are pretty
much established.
Many schools have set curricula which can be a help to
new teachers. They are actually a predefined, established lesson plans that are
already entirely spelled out for the teacher. This can be very helpful,
especially for the newer teachers who haven't quite picked up on what is needed.
Unfortunately, even if they are handed their teacher lesson plans, there is
still a lot of room for adaptation and flexibility, as the curriculum has almost
certainly changed in some respects from year to year, this still leaves a lot of
discretion at the teacher will have two use their own best judgment.
Many
services actually offer teacher lesson plans that have already been laid out and
can be used, or at least partially utilized by the teacher. These teaching
plans, however, usually require a good bit of adaptation to the particular
classroom situation, but since they can be obtained in electronic format and
easily adapted to suit the needs of the teacher, they can provide an invaluable
aid. There are teacher lesson plans available for pretty much every subject
including science, mathematics, English, social studies, and even art and music.
These plans are available for every grade level as well, so the teacher that
wishes to utilize them will have no problem finding one that is tailored to
their needs.
It is of course always a good idea to customize the lesson
plans so that it fits in with what you are trying to accomplish. The teacher
lesson plans that are provided for you should really be used as a pace, or
reference point from which you can mold and adapt to your own.
It may not
be something that completely alleviates you from designing a lesson plan but it
most certainly can be a valuable resource. Having some teacher lesson plans
which you can adapt gives you a base to work off of, which is extremely helpful
in your first few years of teaching. It doesn't matter what your subject is, it
can be quite disconcerting staring at a piece of plankton paper, knowing that
you need to put some quality information on that paper. Having some professional
and put and time tested techniques for teacher lesson plans can cut your work
load in half, even if you are and product looks nothing like theirs.
