Even though there are vaccinations to prevent some of these illnesses

The poor economy has touched everyone's life even if you still have your job and home. Many people who are uninsured regarding health insurance will get sick this winter. However, because of the lack of health coverage they won't be seeing a doctor and trying to let the flu or cold just run their course. While the days linger they go about their business and are contaminating other people around them. This can pose a major problem for the U.S. population.

This is the time of the year when many contagious diseases are most prevalent. Colds, strep throat, sinus infections and flu are rampant during these months and can easily be transmitted at work, school and stores. Those who don't have health care will find themselves lingering with these ailments for a longer period of time, infecting more people, and run the risk of something as small as a cold turn into full fledge pneumonia. Those individuals are a health risk to the community.

These individuals usually can't afford health insurance coverage and therefore it stands to reason that they also can't afford the medications and doctor's visits that are associated with any type of illness. In many cases the adults of the family need to work and may go to work sick, which leads to contamination of others and their children have to be in school when they need to work so in many cases their children are also going to school sick through the winter months which puts your children at risk.

Even though there are vaccinations to prevent some of these illnesses, if you can't afford health insurance you probably are not going to pay for a vaccination. Sickness then gets passed around over and over again. Those with medical insurance may be visiting their doctors more than they anticipated if they continue to come into contact with sick people.

This medical issue should be a concern for everyone. One can no longer let the uninsured fend for themselves as they do pose a health crisis for everyone. It will be interesting to see the health statistics of this winter and those that follow as unemployment continues to rise and puts more people in the position of not having any health insurance.
